Cal has what is called accommodative esotropia. Basically he’s cross-eyed because he has been trying to focus his eyes but he can’t seem to focus in on things close up, because he’s farsighted.
The doctor said that with glasses, Cal’s eyes should stop crossing, but it will take time for him to adjust. If the glasses do not fix the problem, he will have to wear a patch over one eye to strengthen the other. If that doesn’t work, surgery will be a last resort (to correct the muscles behind the eye). More than likely, Calvin will have to wear his glasses for life, he is farsighted. But, he will be a good candidate for lasik surgery when he’s older (like in his teens).
I got a few more pictures uploaded of Calvin in his new glasses.

At first, Cal didn’t want anything to do with wearing his glasses; he just wanted to eat them. Today, day 3 of wearing them, is going better. He’s only tried to take them off a few times. We can tell he can see better because he is able to grab things (like little finger foods) much faster now and his actions seem more deliberate rather than just flailings.
