Wordless Wednesday: Baby 3.0!
Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011Today we had our 20 week ultrasound for the third baby to bless our family:
- Baby Toes
- Sideways view of her face, not the best I know.
- Scary “scream” pose

Today we had our 20 week ultrasound for the third baby to bless our family:
Recently I stumbled across a blog that I really like: Sippy Cups Are Not For Starbucks, thanks to a fellow ADM (remember that?) blogger over at Are You Listening. I could loose myself for hours (if I actually had time) keeping up with all the really great blogs that I find by chance. Anyway, I borrowed the idea for this post from Danifred at Sippy Cups who borrowed it from Jen at (yet another good blog) Here We Go Again. Jen suggested that all Saturday blog posts should include adorable baby pictures. And I say, why not? I have two incredible subjects to use in pictures. And I have lots of pictures that I can post of them both.
For today’s Cute Baby Saturday post, it’s all about the homemade smoothies. Fred and I took these pictures a week or two ago one afternoon after the boys got up from their naps. For their snack I made fresh berry smoothies (see recipe below). I think they were a hit. What do you think?

See, I am pretty sure Oliver liked my concoction (did you notice that he kept spinning while he slurped? He does that all the time now)!
And if a smile, messy face, and smoothie speckled shirt is any indication, Calvin liked it too! (ignore the diaper inserts hanging on the deck railing, I like to air dry clean diapers, but I don’t have a clothes line, it’s one of those to-do things we haven’t gotten done yet)

Mix all ingredients together in a blender (I used the “puree” setting) until smooth.
I was so worried that Cal would scream and cry this year and we wouldn’t get a picture of him with Santa. I should have known better. My little guy isn’t afraid of anything. His little brother isn’t so sure about the jolly ol’ guy though…
As we enter the holiday season, Calvin and Oliver wanted to send an email to Santa. I thought I’d share it with you…
Dear Santa,
Mom and Dad have been reading us Christmas stories and told me that you bring presents to all the good little boys and girls. Mom said that we could write to you and tell you that both Oliver and me (Calvin) have been pretty good this year. Even though I’m climbing all the furniture and getting into everything I possibly can, I’m still a good boy, says Mom. My little brother has been pretty good, he’s too little to really get into trouble like I do. Mom says just give him time, he’ll get into enough trouble later. Oliver and I came up with some things we’d like for Christmas (Mom added a couple things too):
We’ll leave you some milk and cookies on Christmas Eve as a trade for some presents. Maybe some carrots for the reindeer too.
Love,
Calvin and Oliver
p.s. Please don’t skip our house if Oliver isn’t alseep, he still wakes up a couple times a night because he gets hungry. Mom promises to keep him out of the living room so you can drop off our presents!
Aren’t they sweet? Of course, the season is more about giving than receiving, so we’ll be helping the boys understand this as well!
Ok, maybe these aren’t his first steps… instead it was his longest walk at that time.
