I forgot yesterday’s post! I really totally forgot to do it and I’m a little dissapointed in myself. It’s the only day I completely forgot. The other days I missed, I didn’t forget, I just didn’t get a chance to make my post, for whatever reason. So, yesterday, I was thankful for pinterest.com. Yep, I spend a lot of time there now, looking for good recipes, craft ideas, cute quotes, and all kinds of other wasting time things. One of my favorite things I’ve found there:

And that leads me to today’s thankful thought. It’s that ^ right here. Not the image really, but life. As much as I may groan and complain (in real life, not here), it is a beautiful life. And I am blessed to live it. This really is something I need to think about every day. Although I won’t be posting all the things I’m thankful for anymore, I plan on reflecting on the things I am thankful for each day. Because some days, when things aren’t going my way, I really feel like I don’t love it enough. And that’s not acceptable.

Today I’m thankful for what we have. Which is a lot. Fred and I have each other. We have three beautiful and angelic (at least sometimes) children. We also have a great dog and 2 unique cats. We have a roof over our heads and working vehicles to drive. Fred has a good job that, on most days, he loves. We have food to put on our table every night and running water for hot showers and baths. We have great family and friends. Of course, there are things we don’t have that we wish we did, but when I look at what we do have; what else could we possibly need?

Today I’m thankful for old friends. I had a chance to visit with some of my old college roommates tonight. I say some because there were 8 rooms in the house that we shared, but over 2 years, there were 13 of us who lived there (not all at once, but all of us, for at least a little while). You’d think, a house with 8 bedrooms and only 2 bathrooms wouldn’t be a good idea for college girl bonding, especially when none of us really knew each other when we moved in. But we had some really great times! We had some disagreements too, but that’s all water under the bridge. It is always great to get together with them and pick up as if nothing has changed.

Yesterday we had our second Thanksgiving dinner with Fred’s parents. I was thankful for family and making good memories. Like these:

Cal was telling Grandma what and where to color.

Oliver had fun playing with Grandpop

And Laura liked sitting with Grandma.
I hope everyone had as great a Thanksgiving weekend as we did!

Today, on Black Friday, I’m thankful for opportunity. Specifically, the opportunity to save some money while doing one of my very favorite things; shopping. I guess it’s clique to love to shop, but I do. And I love getting good deals just about as much, so I’m thankful for the opportunity to get what I want for my friends and family this Christmas at a good price. Not everyone has this opportunity, and I was reminded of that today, as there was someone holding a “will work for food” sign up on almost every corner I passed today. Times are tough and I’m thankful for what I have.
