The Wedding
THE ENGAGEMENT
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED: October 16, 2006
HOW IT HAPPENED: Once a week Fred makes dinner, this week, it just happened to be on the same day that Sara had a particularly rough day (another car accident!).
Fred made dinner; chicken with fried rice, oriental style. Then he joked about having a surprise for dessert…fortune cookies! He handed Sara one and told her to open hers first, because she was bound to have a better fortune for tomorrow. As she did, she saw a flash of light from inside the cookie.
When she realized what it was and looked at Fred, he was already down on one knee. He asked, “Will you?” and without a doubt she said “Yes!”
Her fortune: “Of the lucky, you are the chosen one.”
His fortune: “A pleasant surprise is in store for you.”
*Fred had picked Sara’s fortune, but he did not type it, it was from another cookie in the box, and Fred’s fortune was truly random!
